How to Start Trading on Investfora: A Practical Guide
Learn how to trade currencies, shares, indices, ETFs and commodities through Investfora's trading account, and what to consider before you begin.
What Trading Means on Investfora
Trading on Investfora means buying and selling financial instruments quickly—sometimes within minutes or hours—rather than holding them for the long term. You are trying to profit from price movements, whether those prices go up or down. The platform offers you currencies (such as euro and dollar pairs), indices (like the FTSE or DAX), individual shares, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and commodities (such as gold or oil).
When you trade, you are using a dedicated trading account that is separate from your Investfora cash balance. This separation is important because it keeps your trading activity distinct from your other investments. You fund the trading account by moving money from your main Investfora cash balance into it.
The trading platform itself runs on three different systems: Windows, Android, or a web trader that opens directly inside your Investfora account. This means you can trade from a desktop computer, a mobile phone, or simply by logging into Investfora on any web browser. You have the tools you need wherever you are, whenever you decide to trade.
The Three Steps to Start Trading
First, you transfer euros into your Investfora account by bank transfer, using the reference shown in your dashboard. This money lands as your Investfora cash balance and usually takes one to three working days to arrive. Once it is there, nothing happens unless you instruct it. Your cash simply sits in your account, waiting for you to decide what to do with it.
Second, you move some of that cash into your trading account. You decide how much to allocate to trading and how much to leave in cash or put into other investments like fixed-term deposits, business lending, or crypto.
Third, you open the trading platform and begin to place trades. You can buy or sell any of the instruments available—a currency pair, a share, an index, an ETF, or a commodity. The price updates in real time, and you can exit your position (sell or buy back) whenever you choose. Each trade you make is recorded in your account history.
What You Can Trade and How Prices Work
Currencies are traded in pairs: euros against dollars, pounds, yen, and many others. When you trade a currency pair, you are betting that one currency will rise or fall in value against the other. Indices let you trade the overall movement of a stock market—for example, the German DAX or the British FTSE—without having to pick individual companies.
Commodities are physical goods: precious metals like gold and silver, or energy products like oil and gas. When you trade a commodity, you are trading the right to buy or sell it at a certain price, not receiving the physical item itself. All of these instruments have live prices that change constantly during trading hours.
The value of any investment can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. This is especially true in trading, where prices can move quickly and against you. Before you place a single trade, you should understand that losing money is a real possibility, not just a theoretical risk.
Understanding Risk Before You Trade
Trading is different from the other investment options on Investfora because prices can move fast and in either direction. A fixed-term deposit, by contrast, locks in a rate that does not change. Business lending shows you the risk grade and interest rate upfront. Trading prices move constantly, and your position can lose value within minutes. You need to accept this volatility before you start.
The amount you decide to move into your trading account should be money you can afford to lose without changing your life. Never trade with money you need for rent, food, essential bills, or any financial goal that matters to you.
You should also learn the basics before you trade real money. Watch how prices move over a few days. Read about the instruments you plan to trade. Understand what moves their prices: for currencies, it is interest rates and economic data; for shares, it is company news and earnings; for commodities, it is supply and demand.
How to Fund Your Trading Account and Manage Your Money
To trade, you first need cash in your main Investfora balance. You transfer euros by bank transfer, using your unique reference from the dashboard. This takes one to three working days. Your first deposit must be at least EUR 250. After that, you can deposit any amount you choose. There is no maximum, though you should never deposit more than you can afford.
Once your cash is in Investfora, you move money from that balance into your trading account. This movement is instant—it happens right away on the platform. You can move money back out of your trading account into your main cash balance whenever you wish, or use it to fund other investments like fixed-term deposits or crypto.
Keep in mind that when you close a trade, any profit or loss is calculated in euros and sits in your trading account. If you want to withdraw that money back to your bank, you would move it from your trading account to your main Investfora cash balance, then request a withdrawal from Investfora.
The Trading Platform and Tools Available to You
Investfora's trading platform is provided by a broker and runs on Windows desktop software, an Android mobile app, or a web trader built into your Investfora account. The web trader is the simplest way to start: you log into Investfora and open the trading interface without downloading anything.
All three versions show you live prices, your open positions, your profit and loss on each trade, and your account balance. You can place orders to buy or sell immediately at the current market price, or you can set orders to execute automatically if the price reaches a level you specify.
The platform records every trade you make and shows your complete history. This is valuable for learning: you can look back at your trades, see what worked and what did not, and adjust your approach. Keep records of why you made each trade, so that later you can understand your own decision-making and improve it over time.
Before You Open Your First Trade
Ask yourself honestly whether trading suits you. Trading requires time, attention, and emotional discipline. If you trade while tired, stressed, or emotional, you are more likely to make poor decisions. If you cannot check the market regularly, or if you panic when prices move against you, trading may not be right for you.
Start small. Move a modest amount into your trading account and place small trades. This lets you learn how the platform works and how you respond to winning and losing trades without risking a large sum. As you gain experience and confidence, you can increase the size of your trades if you choose.
Remember that Investfora does not give advice or make recommendations about what to trade. You decide entirely what to buy and sell, and you are responsible for that choice. The platform gives you the tools, the information, and access to the markets, but the decision is yours alone.

Deposit euros when you are ready and choose what they do next. You can start with one thing and add others later.
