Editorial standards
These are the rules every page on Investfora obeys. They are written to be checkable: if a page breaks one, we want to hear about it, and the page comes down while we fix it.
Every fact traces to a source
A statement of fact must carry a link to the register entry, filing, dataset or official notice it came from. If a fact cannot be sourced, it does not run — the article is written around it or not at all. Hypothetical arithmetic in education guides is labelled as hypothetical.
We report records, we do not declare verdicts
We write what a register or regulator says — “the FCA’s warning list includes…” — and never our own verdict on a firm’s legality. The regulator’s record is the fact; our opinion of a firm is not.
No advice, no ratings, no promises
Nothing on Investfora tells you what to buy, which broker to use, or what will happen to any price. Education guides explain mechanics only. Comparison language, superlatives and predicted returns are banned in every template and checked before publication.
Automated drafting, hostile checking
Articles are drafted — by software we operate, or by an editor — from a locked fact sheet in which every figure carries its source. A draft may not add facts to the sheet. Before publication it must pass, in order: a citation check (every claim linked), a banned-language check, an originality check against the whole site, and an independent validation pass whose instruction is to find a reason to fail the piece. One failure allows one rewrite; a second failure parks the piece unpublished.
Published pages stay on probation
Validation does not end at publication. Published pages are re-examined by the independent check, and a page that fails is removed from the site immediately and automatically — before a human has read the objection — then corrected and republished only if the correction survives the same scrutiny.
Corrections are never silent
A confirmed error is corrected on the page it appeared on. A page whose premise fails is withdrawn rather than quietly rewritten. Reports to corrections@investfora.com are read by a human.
Other people's work is linked, not taken
Headlines from other publications appear as links to those publications, with their names on them. We do not reproduce, rewrite or summarise their reporting as ours. Regulator and central-bank material is reused only within the terms those bodies publish under.
Images tell the truth about themselves
Broker pages use our own dated captures of the broker's public website. Editorial photographs are licensed stock, credited to the photographer, and never staged to imply a verdict about a firm.
